WHY TAKE THIS COURSE?
The NCFE Certificate in Interactive Media is an Art and Design course that provides you with skills in image, video and audio manipulation, as well as in how to 'author' (meaning, to create an interactive presentation) of these elements.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
You will learn how to plan your ideas before producing and developing a wide range of media types using a number of sophisticated industry standard computer software packages. This will include learning how to use Adobe After Effects for video manipulation, motion graphics and animated content. You will also use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for still image editing and learn how to use media-authoring packages to bring interactivity to the presentation. This is then uploaded as online content to develop your internet based portfolio.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
The course is assessed on the successful completion of a practical outcome and its supporting coursework, which comprises of optional and mandatory units. The first year Level 2 Intermediate qualification (worth 2 GCSEs) consists of three mandatory units plus one optional unit. The second year Level 3 Advanced qualification (worth 1 A Level) consists of four mandatory units plus one optional unit.

WHAT SKILLS AND SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS DO I NEED?
You will need to have an interest in Interactive Media and have at least a grade C GCSE in an Art and Design subject or the equivalent. You should bring to the course an understanding of how to use a computer and have a reasonable appreciation of Art and Design or Graphics.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
The course is ideal for candidates who have an interest in Interactive Media and wish to develop these skills with a view to accessing Higher Education in the direction of interactive media, graphic design, or media production. On the course, you will produce a visually exciting interactive curriculum vitae that will assist your application either into university or industry.

PRIESTLEY EXTRA
