| Global Priestley As well as being offered the best in teaching and learning opportunities that are currently available, students at Priestley have been able to further broaden their horizons as the College has gone global. Over recent years teaching and learning has not only been taking place on the Loushers Lane campus but also across the world and during 2010/11 this was no different. New York proved to be a particularly popular destination with students from Media and Performing Arts, Art and Design and Public Services all visiting the Big Apple in order to seek further inspiration for their classroom studies. Elsewhere students from Sport completed their annual training camp at the Club La Santa resort in Lanzarote, whilst at the other end of the weather spectrum, students from Geology and Geography visited Iceland. Berlin was the destination once again for students on the Art Foundation programme. Meanwhile in a first for Priestley, Science and Maths students visited CERN in Switzerland to see the world’s premier Particle Accelerator. A team from Health and Education also visited Moldova to work with underprivileged children in orphanages. In many instances the students on all of the visits have left the UK for the very first time and returned with memories that will last a lifetime. |
