Helping the heroes

PRIESTLEY College hopes to raise more than £1,000 for Help for Heroes after students completed a number of challenges.

A fundraising day raised £400, but Public Services students and tutors are hoping to hit their target over the coming weeks.

They did a sponsored run, cake and wristband sale and a bucket collection. There were further physical challenges in the Wicked Cafe.

“The students set themselves a target of rowing a marathon on a machine, but in the end they managed to do three,” said Tutor Chris Seaton.

Help for Heroes provides direct, practical support to wounded, injured and sick Service personnel, veterans, and their families. This is provided through grants to individuals and other Service charities, capital build projects and support for life at our four Recovery Centres across the UK.
