Priestley’s Rugby Development Academy won the College Rugby League Cup today with a 42-26 victory over Leeds Rhinos’ Development Academy.
In the national final – played at Headingley – Priestley went ahead early after a Jack Edge try and maintained the lead throughout. There were more tries in the first half for Luke Greenwood (2) and Ewan Smith and at the break Priestley were leading 22-6.
There were some difficult moments for Priestley in the second half as 20 points by Leeds went unanswered, but tries from Bobby Shingler, Ben Turner and another from Edge secured the title.
