- minimum GCSE Maths grade 5
- minimum GCSE English Language grade 4
What you will study
Core Content – problem solving, programming, emerging issues and impact of digital, legislation and regulatory requirements, business context, data, digital environments and security.
Occupational Specialism – the SDLC of Analysis, design, implement and test software as well as looking at tool and techniques to maintain and support software, working collaboratively, evaluate sources of knowledge and work within legal and ethical constraints.
Industry placement of 50 days.
How you will be assessed
Core Content: two exams and an externally-set project
Occupational Specialism: externally assessed project where you will be required to analyse a problem and design a solution, developing a prototype and gathering feedback to inform future development.
Successful completion of your industry placement.
Priestley Extra
Enrichment activities such as Apps for Good and First Tech Challenge. Visits from organisations offering apprenticeships including Barclays Bank and other local apprenticeship schemes.
Progression
Degree apprenticeship or a degree such as Software Development or Computer Science. Skilled employment within the software development sector.
