Amy Higham received the Art Foundation Diploma Award after she completed her time at Priestley College.

Now the former Culcheth High School pupil is studying BA(Hons) Fashion at Manchester Metropolitan University and hopes to one day start her own design business.

“My tutors at Priestley we’re so supportive throughout my whole time at college,” said Amy.

“Especially when applying to university where I had to go through different stages including the personal statement, online portfolios and then interviews.”

Amy studied A-Levels in Textiles (A), Photography (A) and Sociology (C) before completing the Art Foundation at Priestley.

She was offered unconditional places at London College of Fashion and East London before choosing MMU.

During her time at college she created pieces inspired by a visit to The Grove at Arley Hall & Gardens, her work was later displayed at Arley’s garden festival.

“I would recommend Priestley for the support and the many opportunities you can get involved in,” she said.

“I really enjoyed my time at Priestley and it has helped me get to where I am now.”
