Destination :Studying Law at Lancaster University
ENGLISH was brought to life for Beth White at Priestley College.
Beth combined English Literature with A-Levels in History, Law, Psychology and the Extended Project.
The former St Gregory’s RC High School pupil – who is now studying Law at Lancaster University – said: “The teachers are extremely supportive of everyone in the class and make a real effort to ensure everyone is included in group discussions.
“The teachers also make sure everyone is engaging with the texts by assigning everyone roles to read, playing short clips of film adaptations there are even trips to watch real life performances at the theatre.”
Beth left Priestley with an A* in English Literature and As in her other subject.
She now hopes to become a solicitor or barrister and is on the one to securing her goal.
She said: “The English department helped me to secure the grades I needed to gain a place at university by giving me regular feedback on how I could improve my work and also taking the time to mark any extra questions nearer the exam.”
