Destination :First Class Honours Degree in Law at University of Liverpool
Suzie Mahoney is aiming to become a social justice solicitor after completing a First Class Honours Degree in Law at University of Liverpool.
She is now studying the Legal Practice Course (LPC) combined with a Masters at the University of Law.
Suzie left Priestley with As in A-Level Law, Politics and Philosophy along with the top grade in AS-Level Psychology.
“While at Priestley I was selected for the Pembroke North Scheme with Oxford University, which gave me insight into university life and raised my aspirations,” said Suzie.
“The experience prepared me for university and looked impressive on my UCAS application and I received a lot of support in preparing my application as well as my personal statement.”
The former Altrincham Girls Grammar School pupil chose to study at Priestley because of the range of subjects on offer.
Other colleges didn’t offer the subjects she was passionate about or more niche options such as Philosophy.
During her time at Priestley, Suzie also took part in extra-curricular activities such as the Model United Nations competitions, Pembroke North Scheme and the College Council.
“These events helped me develop many skills that are essential for university and careers such as communication skills, teamwork, confidence, independence and leadership skills,” she said.
“Not only did Priestley prepare me for academia and for employment, it also enhanced my social life. I met lifelong friends there who have gone to different universities but who I have still retained strong relationships with.”
