Priestley scores success in rugby and women’s football

Priestley’s rugby players defeated Warrington Collegiate 28-12 last week.

They recovered from an 8-6 deficit at half-time thanks to great performances from Sam Bennett, Ross Young and man of the match Sean Withington. Try scorers were Matthew Wilkinson, Chris Ashbrook, Miguel Panis and Ed Chamberlain (2). Luke Walker kicked four goals during the match.

In the first game of the season Priestley defeated Wigan and Leigh 26-20 thanks to a Matthew Wilkinson hat-trick.

Not to be outdone, the women’s football team at Priestley have won 9-1 against Ashton Sixth Form and 7-6 against Bury in the seven-a-side North West College’s league. There have been impressive team performances so far with Shannon Lawless, Kelsie-Leigh Hughes and Caitlin Hayes producing some standout moments.
