PRIESTLEY College has been rewarded for its commitment to inclusivity and its dedication to improving the lives of its students.
It received the Rainbow Flag Award – a national badge of honour for organisations that work hard to ensure a place feels safe and inclusive.
Pastoral Head Jenny George said: “We have skilled teachers, supportive parents and governors at Priestley.
“We also offer an inclusive and diverse curriculum so this approach really is at the heart of our values at Priestley.”
The Rainbow Flag Award is a national quality assurance framework for all schools and youth-centred organisations. The award focuses on positive LGBT+ inclusion and visibility.
Priestley’s commitment to the award shows how the college wants to improve the lives of all the young people in its care, those from LGBT+ families, and LGBT+ staff members.
“Ensuring students feel supported and secure throughout their college experience is a top priority for Priestley,” said Jenny.
