Following the success of this year’s Uganda expedition, Priestley College students will have the opportunity to embark on another unforgettable conservation adventure in 2027 – this time to the incredible biodiversity hotspot of Costa Rica.
Based in the spectacular Osa Peninsula, students will work alongside conservation experts on genuine environmental projects, including tropical forest restoration, sea turtle conservation, species monitoring, biodiversity surveys and camera trapping to help monitor elusive rainforest wildlife.
They’ll also develop valuable field study skills while exploring one of the most biodiverse countries on Earth.
The itinerary also includes canopy walks through world-famous cloud forests, exhilarating zip-wire experiences above the rainforest, and the chance to discover Costa Rica’s remarkable ecosystems, where around 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity can be found in the Monteverde Cloud Forest and students contribute to ongoing conservation projects in the Osa Peninsula.
More than just an overseas trip, the expedition is designed to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and leadership while giving students invaluable experience for university, apprenticeships and careers in conservation, ecology, environmental science, geography, biology and many other fields.
