
What do you consider the role of a Progress Tutor to be?
My role is to help students achieve their best in the classroom and develop as individuals along the way. As a progress tutor I am there to support and guide students when they need it.
What do you love about your job?
This is my 30th year in teaching and one of the things I enjoy most about my job is seeing the growth of students in their time with us. Sometimes this can be challenging along the way, but it’s always a joy to see how far students come, from school children when they joing to adults as they leave.
How do you think the progress tutors make a difference to the students at Priestley?
Progress tutors give students a space to be honest so the right support can be actioned. They also guide students through the application process for their next steps.
Why did you want to get into education?
I wanted to share my love for my subject with the next generation and inspire students to want to do well and achieve.
