
What do you love about the subject you teach?
I was very fortunate to have some fantastic role models as PE teachers during my time at secondary school and they gave me real confidence in my abilities to succeed and showed me that the power of education is profound. It really can play a part in changing all lives, but especially those less fortunate.
Education truly did change my life for the better hence I wanted to go into teaching to give my pupils/students a chance to change their lives for the better too!
What qualifications do you have that are connected to the subject you teach?
BSC Degree in Sport Science. BA degree in History and a PGCE. Qualified Gym instructor and DOFE assessor.
What relevant industry experience do you have?
I have been teaching Sport and PE for over 20 years across various parts of the UK such as Cornwall, Sussex and obviously here at Priestley!
Do you have any Examiner / Moderator / Assessor experience?
I also have extensive exam board experience working as an Standards Verifier for Sport, Principal examiner for A level PE, Principal Examiner for Sport Psychology, Scrutineer and Reviewer.
What is your message to students considering studying at Priestley College?

Do you have any interesting hobbies?
I am an avid rugby union player, love going to the gym and am currently researching the gut microbiome and the benefits of a plant-based diet and the diversity of plants available to us for overall health improvement.
