What do you love about the subject you teach?
Criminology is a fascinating subject that give students an insight into the world of crime fighting through an academic perspective. It challenges what they they they know about organisations such as the police and prisons as well as theories from multiple disciplines on why individuals might commit crimes of a varying nature.
What qualifications do you have that are connected to the subject you teach?
Sociology/ Psychology A-Levels, BA Sociology, PGCE, Curriculum Lead.
What relevant industry experience do you have?
Taught the subject since its inception in 2017 making me one of the most experienced in the country at Level 3.

What is your message to students considering studying at Priestley College?
Priestley is a lovely inclusive college that welcomes students from a variety of backgrounds.
This is many students’ first opportunity to look at Criminology in a formal capacity and will likely be the first real steps towards a career in the field, whether as part of law enforcement or from a scientific perspective.
