All users of the college parking facilities must follow these rules:
- Only registered students with a valid parking permit can park on campus
- Vehicles must only be parked in designated bays
- A speed limit of 5 mph must be followed
- Reserved parking for specific groups, including visitors and individuals with disabilities, is strictly for their use. Do not remove any signs or park in these spaces.
- Access to car parks should only be through the automatic entrance barrier
- Any passengers must be registered students or parents/carers
- Do not tailgate when going through parking barriers. This can lead to malfunctions, inaccurate counts, and safety risks, and result in accidents or delays for others
- If the car park is full, do not queue or obstruct traffic while waiting for a space. This can cause safety issues. Instead, look for parking elsewhere
- Do not block the mini roundabout
- Do not double park, as it blocks traffic
- Do not make noise in cars, such as yelling, honking horns, or playing music, as it can disrupt nearby classes and residents
- Do not sit in your car alone or with others during non-lesson hours, as this can also disrupt classes and residents
- Do not give your car keys or parking permit (college ID card) to other people, or use your permit to grant car park access to vehicles other than your own
- Students must not occupy vehicles unless accompanied by the registered driver
- Motorcyclists must not ride on the pavement to bypass the barrier and must park only in designated motorcycle areas
Parking is not allowed in the following locations:
- On yellow lines
- On grass, footpaths, or cycle paths (this can create difficulties for pedestrians, wheelchair users, people with visual impairments, and those with prams or pushchairs)
- In locations that obstruct access for emergency or delivery vehicles
- In areas cordoned and set aside for specific temporary uses
- In spaces marked for visitors or related to maintenance or construction work
- At the college drop-off zone
Zero Tolerance for Violence & Aggression
Any verbal or physical abuse related to the enforcement of these rules will not be tolerated and may lead to disciplinary action and, if necessary, police involvement. Regular checks will be carried out to ensure adherence to these rules.
Failure to follow these rules will lead to consequences, such as the following:
- Suspension from college
- Cancellation of your parking permit
