Some students drive to college, but parking is limited. The council does not permit us to increase the number of parking spaces, so only students with a valid student parking permit can park in the designated areas of the campus car parks. Although this does not guarantee a parking space, the barrier will open for permit holders if spaces are available. The college provides 38 student parking spaces, 2 designated bays for blue badge holders, and an area for motorbikes and mopeds. Our student car park operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and only vehicles registered with the college are allowed entry.
Car Park Entrances
Students with a valid student parking permit can enter the student car park by scanning their ID card at the entrance barrier system, which also monitors available parking spaces. If the LED sign indicates that the car park is full, students will need to park elsewhere.
Overflow Parking
We encourage students not to park in local streets and to instead use the overflow parking available at the following locations:
- Loushers Lane Recreation Ground, Latchford, Warrington, WA4 2RF Free (50 Spaces)
- Warrington Town FC, Cantilever Park, Cheshire, Warrington WA4 2RS Free (18 Spaces)
- Victoria Park Car Park, Knutsford Rd, Warrington WA4 1HN Free (420 Spaces)
- Morrisons, Greenall’s Ave, Warrington WA4 6RN Free (Maximum stay 3 hours)
- Grammar School Road Car Park, Latchford, WA4 1JN Free (33 Spaces – 4 hours maximum stay/2 hours no return)
Registering for the Student Car Park
Parking is limited, so only Year 2 students living more than three miles away can get a permit, unless there are exceptional circumstances for any Year 1 students. Parking permits are given priority to students who:
- Are in their second year (Year 13)
- Travel the farthest
- Have limited access to Priestley’s direct bus services or public transport
- Have disabilities or special needs that require a parking space
A permit does not guarantee a parking space, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis each day. Before receiving a permit, you must sign the Student Parking Rules & Agreement.
If you get a permit but decide you no longer need to access the car park, please email finance@priestley.ac.uk within 30 days of receiving it. Requests submitted after this time may not qualify for a refund.
Drop-Off Zone
The college Drop-Off Zone is off the mini roundabout before the automatic entrance barriers. Parking or waiting in this area is not allowed.
