A prestigious dance programme delivered by Priestley College has picked up two more awards, with both a teacher and student celebrating success.
Tutor Jo Novoa Bradley received Rambert Grades’ Examiner Choice Award, acknowledging her outstanding commitment, creativity and the impact of her teaching, as observed through the examination process.
There was also success for Bridgewater High School pupil Hattie Cheung, who has been attending the extracurricular classes at Priestley.
She received the Excellence in Technique and Artistic Expression award following her examination performance.
Priestley offers Rambert Grades as part of its dance provision, with staff undertaking specialist training so the internationally respected contemporary discipline can be taught to the highest standards.
“Hattie’s achievement reflects the dedication and creativity she brings to her training,” said Jo.
“It’s fantastic to see students gaining recognition for the hard work they put into developing both their technique and their artistic expression.”
The Rambert Grades Examination Awards recognise consistently high levels of technical ability, expressive performance and dedication to contemporary dance training.
Last year Priestley’s Rambert Grades programme won an award after it became the highest-performing centre in the North of England.
The programme was introduced at the college after staff recognised it as a way to give dancers additional opportunities to develop contemporary technique and performance skills.
Hattie’s success continues a growing record of achievement for Priestley’s dance programme, which regularly sees alumni progress to the UK’s finest conservatoires.
